1.~Title for the Service ( e.g. Wedding Service / Ceremony or Celebration for Wedding / Marriage )
2.~Introductions ( reflecting the beliefs and values of the couple, the spiritual or natural tone of the ceremony such as “We have gathered here, before God ...” or “We, the family and friends of N and N, have gathered here...”)
3.~Questions of Intent ( e.g. “Do you, N, take N to be your wife? Will you love, comfort....” )
4.~Readings ( bringing the wisdom of past and present generations to this ceremony, for ideas try Net Poets )
5.~The exchange of Promises ( “N and N have written their own and say them to each other now ...... or “ I take you to be my wife, to have and to hold....”)
6.~Giving / Receiving rings, symbols such as a thousand cranes ( in the Far East the crane, of the stork family, is a symbol of good fortune and fertility - origami cranes work best ! ),presenting the bride with a silver key, the wish tree, horseshoes, apples ( also symbols of fertility ), knotted ribbons or Gifts ( either with your own wording or the traditional “I give you this ring....” ) Have you thought of giving a Kate Osborn designed personalised cushion?
